We Can Be Changed

It may begin innocently enough . A moment in which something catches our attention. We pause and look a little longer , we give it some thought and then more . And then we may begin seeking out more information or more of the ” something ” that we were drawn to and connected with so unexpectedly . This is the start of expanding our awareness . This is the start of welcoming something new whether an idea , a change in perspective or incorporating a new routine into our lives . One that is calming for the mind and nervous system . One that is a freedom from angst and anger .

In a moment suddenly there is a realization that we have a choice . We can , step by step , moment by moment , choose to pause before angst takes us over in any given moment . Breathe deeply , slow down your mind and soothe your nervous system gently . This lovely , challenging life goes by quickly and when we notice how differently we feel about life , about ourselves , when we are calm and compassionate in any circumstance . Kindness comes more easily . Peace begins within you as well as outside of you .

A Slow Morning

The moments are delightfully and peacefully slow . A slight breeze , intermittent birds singing and gentle sunshine affording a sense of cheeriness .

A day free from outside obligations means the inspiration and joy are free to flow . The space for wandering thoughts and spontaneity relieve pressures forced upon the nervous system from a world of expectations .

Free to feel the quietness and the calm and delighting in the subtle beauty of a changing breeze or a small bird flying by while the cat , Miss Millie , naps at the foot of the bed .

In the current sate of our tumultuous world a slow morning is now survival . A nervous system forced to be “on” all of the time is doomed so I embrace a slow morning now more than ever .

There is so much beauty in this world why the need to destroy and conquer ? It seems that some men would rule over ashes that they’ve created then allow others to thrive and shine . Who knows what’s coming next so I will float in the flow of a slow morning whenever I am able to.
